Supply Chain Jam

Tomorrow I will be participating in an internal IBM supply chain jam.  A jam is IBM lingo for a giant, well organised live chat session on a particular topic.  Almost like a global, virtual conference.  This article in MIT Review explains it best.  The concept is to use the collective ideas of hundreds of experts to come up with innovative ideas.  A few years back IBM used a jam to choose 10 projects that eventually were funded with $100 million.  So these are serious collaborations.

Jams can be done internally and externally, of course IBM sells the ability to do a jam to clients.

Anyway, I will try and find out what I can share externally once its over.
