Well, that was quick.
It seems like only yesterday I dropped my daughter off at college to begin her freshman year,
and now I’m heading out to pick her up.
Only yesterday she was born, me heading out to bring her home from the hospital.
Only yesterday I graduated from college, bought a bicycle and cycled cross country, then
headed out to Arizona to begin life again.
It seems like only yesterday, not years, that I was a kid myself
playing stickball and bathing in the johnny pump on President St.
Not years, but only yesterday, my heart first beat,
my parents first met, the sun set on the sugarcane fields,
the blinding light, the big bang,
was it really that quick?
