The Alloy team continues to grow quickly, and this month, we’re excited to highlight two of our newest employees — Tom Jones and Adrienne Alterman. They bring strong industry experience to the company, coming from the worlds of consumer electronics and CPG.

As we grow, we are always striving to balance people with deep industry knowledge who intimately understand existing processes and workflows, and people that are just amazing technologists, who don’t bring any preconceived notions about how things should be but are intensely curious and want to learn. Adrienne and Tom are great combinations of both, and Alloy has already started benefiting from their expertise.

I’m looking forward to sharing their insights with you too, starting with a webinar with Adrienne. Themed “What I Wish I Knew Then,” she shares lessons learned on her path to becoming a National Sales Manager for premium audio brands and the little things that made a big difference in achieving her goals. You can view the recording here.

More about Adrienne

Adrienne Altermann has over 10 years’ experience in HiFi retail, wholesale and channel marketing, with a successful track record helping consumer electronics companies achieve targets and create new business. Most recently, Adrienne led North American national sales at YG Acoustics, where she coordinated everything from demand planning to marketing budgets, product setup, and overall process development to create business.

At Bowers & Wilkins, Adrienne managed business with 12 National Accounts across North America. She established the brand’s Best Buy Core business, expanded new business with partners like Guitar Center, T-Mobile, and Tech On The Go, and became a trusted advisor to Amazon buyers. For the launch of their newest headphones, she increased retail sell-through 75% from the previous model by effectively partnering with retailers on marketing launch plans, and moved over 9,000 units in the first two months.

Adrienne’s earlier experiences include creating Westone Laboratories’ 3PL business unit on Amazon to sell direct to consumers, and growing sales by 76% in three years at Sumiko Audio. She has dual degrees in Sociology and European History from the University of Denver, and hails from New Orleans, LA.

More about Tom

Tom Jones has over 15 years’ experience aligning technology to solve complex challenges in forecasting, planning, and visualizing networked data across a breadth of industries.

Prior to joining Alloy, Tom spent nearly 7 years with Anaplan, strategically engaging within the Consumer Packaged Goods space to connect planning across Supply Chain, Sales, & Finance for Anaplan’s largest strategic global accounts in the North Central region.

He started on the Solutions Consulting team, where he was instrumental in developing and communicating the value that Anaplan’s platform brought to complex organizations. After moving to the Enterprise Sales team, he owned Enterprise Consumer Products accounts across the central third of the US, eventually ending his tenure at Anaplan after a successful IPO.

Before Anaplan, Tom led financial modeling, forecasting, & reporting for the $15 billion Entertainment business unit of Best Buy. He worked with merchant buyer teams on planning and managing the financials for their businesses, striving to quantify the cost and impact of promotions as well as forecasting performance of new product launches.

Tom has a BS in Computer Science/Data Architecture from the University of Minnesota, and an MBA from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota. He lives in Minneapolis, MN, where he was born and raised.
