Beer and food industries are particularly affected by the shortages of aluminum cans as most customers prefer take-home packaging. The deepening power crisis has already taken 900,000 tons of smelting capacity offline in North America and Europe. About 73% of the aluminum cans in the US come from recycled scrap.
