It’s been a tremendous first year at  supplychaingamechanger.com.  Our goal has always been to share experiences and expertise.  And in the second half of 2017 we had an ever increasing number of articles contributed by industry leaders all of whom have been very generous in sharing their intellect and insights.  This is our second 2017 Top 10 List.

Our readers and contributors come from all over the world.  They include individuals new to Supply Chain as well as Industry leaders and everyone in between.   And they work in many different industries and vocations.   But they all have a common interest in Supply Chain, Operations, Business, Leadership, Change Management, Human Resources, Transformation,  and Technology.

Most importantly they all have an interest in learning and sharing.

As we end this first year we wanted to publish our 2nd Top 10 List.  Our first Top 10 List covered the Top blog posts from the first half of 2017 so our 2nd Top 10 List will cover the second half of 2017.

There is tremendous interest in technological advancements in Warehouses and Distribution Centres.   This does not have to involve the expenditure of millions of dollars because there is a wide spectrum of technology which can be applied.  This excellent article by Industry leaders Tompkins International is a great articulation of the state of Warehouse technology.

6. Black Friday is Almost Here!  Last Minute Supply Chain Preparation!

In the lead up to our most recent Black Friday season companies everywhere were busy getting ready for the most hectic time of the year in the Supply Chain.  While most of the work should have been done a long time ago there are still last minute checks and actions that can be taken to help ensure a successful season from a Supply Chain perspective.  Individuals everywhere were looking for any last minute tips to help their cause.

5. Blockchain Technology is the Antidote to the Bullwhip Effect!

2. Farmville – It’s Really a Supply Chain Game!

The wildly popular game Farmville has been played by millions of people around the world.  I started playing it a few years ago when my Granddaughter introduced me to Farmville.  But in playing the game I realized that it was really a game that involved managing the Supply Chain of the Farm.  Check it out!  It is fun and addicting!

The evolution to Industry 4.0 represents the advancement of Robotics, the Internet of Things (IoT), Artificial Intelligence, and Technology of all kinds.  The implications for Manufacturing, Operations, and the Digital Supply Chain of the future are significant.  The fact that this was our Number 1 blog post in the second half of 2017 reflects the tremendous interest in technology and strategy development for the future!
