Løvenskiold Handel Chooses RELEX to Boost Profits And Cut Costs

Jun 19, 2017 3 min

Løvenskiold Handel is looking to RELEX Solutions’s technology and expertise to strengthen its supply chain planning and management.

Løvenskiold Handel operates one of Norway’s leading building and DIY retailers and offers customers a wide range of construction supplies through its nationwide Maxbo-branded stores. The company has a solid market position in Norway with approximately 70 directly-owned and managed shops and franchises, as well as professional centers. Løvenskiold searched for more effective store operations and wanted to offer better procurement support to their stores. Therefore, they needed an efficient and integrated supply chain solution, supporting the flow of goods all the way from suppliers to shops. Their ideal was to find a supply chain solution that would simplify decision-making in stores and make ordering from the distribution centre and direct delivery from suppliers easier. Following a thorough process to evaluate different vendors, the choice was RELEX Solutions.

RELEX will be implemented in two phases. In the first phase, order proposals will be generated for the Maxbo stores, followed by a second phase which will include the procurement process for the central warehouse. As a result, Løvenskiold will have an integrated supply chain that will improve product availability while increasing management control as well as supply-chain-optimization support.

RELEX offers Løvenskiold Handel an integrated platform that will give it better decision-making tools and the management support it needs.

Jan Thore Brubak, Løvenskiold Handel’s Director of Development and Supply Chain, wants to streamline manual ordering processes that currently uses handheld terminals in each store. RELEX will automatically generate order proposals that will be monitored by Løvenskiold’s central purchasing team. In addition to increased product availability, this will free up time for other value-creating tasks. The employees working in the stores will now be able to focus more on inventory control, active customer support and promotional activities for increased profitability.

Ida Myran, a Business Manager with RELEX, is excited at the prospect of working with Løvenskiold Handel. “RELEX offers Løvenskiold Handel an integrated platform that will give it better decision-making tools and the management support it needs,” she says, “while RELEX’s advanced campaign and seasonal forecasting will deliver Løvenskiold Handel great value.”

Both RELEX’s team and its software are very much focused on a future where we’re constantly innovating and continually improving, so we’re very confident that RELEX fits into our long-term strategy perfectly.

Having started the implementation of RELEX, Brubak is eagerly looking forward to the results. “At Løvenskiold Handel we’re always looking to innovate and improve our performance, and we’re confident that RELEX will help us do so. Both RELEX’s team and its software are very much focused on a future where we’re constantly innovating and continually improving, so we’re very confident that RELEX fits into our long-term strategy perfectly,” Brubak says.
