Innovations in Offline Retail! (Infographic)

Offline Retail Shopping

There is no escaping the fact that offline retail has changed over the last number of years. The predominant reason for this is advancement in technology but specifically with the emergence of the Internet and associated devices which allow consumers to literally shop from the comfort of their couch.

Smartphones and tablets are simply ubiquitous in today’s world and it’s difficult to walk down the street of any city without encountering someone on their phone. Furthermore, you will often find people in-store who are simultaneously checking out products online too!

It’s a huge area of competition for the traditional brick and mortar retailer but it is important to note that there will always be a place in the world for a brick and mortar store. This niche is still vastly more popular than online and there are many people who simply prefer to shop in-store.

What retailers do need to do though is reassess their offering and examine how they can encourage people to come into their store over shopping online and crucially to ensure that they return to shop there once again.

There are many ways to do this but the key element is that the traditional retailer needs to first accept that they must change with the times in order to actually have a future.

The guys at Storetraffic have put together this infographic below which outlines a number of ways brick and mortar retailers can use innovations in order to bring customers back to their stores. It also contains some viable expert opinion on the matter – read on for more on this!
