Capacity of container ships handled in 2014. In 2014, 39% of all container ships travelling worldwide had capacities of over 14,000 TEUs and the number of megaships continues to grow. As Graph 3 shows, the number of port calls in 2014 was the lowest in the past 10 years – more than 50% decline since 2009.
