Hometown: Newport Beach, CA
College: UCLA; Business Economics & Psychology
Pre-Business School: Clients Operations Group Manager at Fisher Investments
Summer Internship: Commercial Leadership Program, MBA Marketing Intern at Amgen
Post-Anderson: Going back to Amgen! I'll be starting a 3-year rotational program, the first of which is in sales in the Oncology Business Unit, then Marketing.
PRE-ANDERSON
Why business school? 3 reasons: First, I wanted to transition to a new career, industry, and function that I had no exposure to without starting at a lower level to "pay my dues." Second, I wanted to get the education with which to better understand and make macro-level business decisions. Third, I wanted to build a strong network and be in an intellectually stimulating environment.
Why Anderson? I chose Anderson largely because of the people. The students I met were not only incredibly intelligent, talented, and motivated, but equally as important, they were great people. I knew I would enjoy collaborating with them and learn from their expertise.

Favorite class and why? Global Supply Chain Management with Professor Tang. This should be a core class. Professor Tang makes it fun and interesting to learn about a variety of different types of global supply chain issues with real world applications without sacrificing the rigor of the academic experience.
Applied Management Research Project: Business Creation Option (BCO) - Aquivino
Favorite Anderson Event: Favorite trip: Japan! Amazing cultural, education, and social experience. Favorite event: 80's night! What can I say, I love the 80's!
Best Anderson memory so far: Ixtapa, Mexico. November of 1st year, Vicente, one of my classmates, invited a group of us that were in the Entrepreneur Association. Though we barely knew each other, we went for it and had the most amazing time! It was a good reminder that it pays to take risks—and take adventures with people that are outside of your close circle. Plus, Vicente and I ended up teaming together for our BCO project.

RECRUITING
What helped most in your interview preparation and career search? Doing mock interviews. Not just with Parker, but with 2nd years, peers, mentors, etc.
How did you utilize Parker in your job search and interview prep? I used Parker for mock interviews, resume help, & mental breakdowns ;)
How many informational interviews have you conducted while at Anderson? 20
How did you land your internship? Through on-campus recruiting faciliated by the Parker CMC
Describe your internship. I loved it! I was responsible for improving patient persistence for Sensipar, a drug used for dialysis patients. I learned a lot about the underlying science behind the drug and how it helped patients with kidney failure. I also helped Amgen expand their phone support program and create promotional materials to market the expansion to dialysis clinics. I used the regression tools that I learned in one of my management courses,Tools and Analytics for Business Strategy (TABS), to reveal interesting trends in pricing and demographics as a function of patient persistence.
Why Healthcare? I found Healthcare extremely interesting. I enjoy learning about the science behind the drugs that are used to help rare diseases, and I think it's meaningful to work on a product that helps improve and save lives.
