5% more van loads were posted last week , and the load-to-truck ratio heated up in the Northeast and parts of the Midwest, as shown in this Hot States Map for the week of August 2 - 8, 2015. Rates trended up in Houston, a major flatbed market, as well as secondary markets including Las Vegas, NV; Fort Worth, TX; Cleveland, OH; and Tampa, FL.

It was among 55 Houston-area facilities named as potentially harmful in a 2015 Houston Chronicle investigation done with Texas A&M University. Port Tampa Bay alone handles ammonia, unleaded gasoline, sulfuric acid and ethanol. The Arkema plant generates about $30 million in annual revenue, less than 1% of its parent’s total.
