Supply Chain Graphic of the Week: IMF Economic Forecasts for 2022 and 2023

 

 

US, Global Growth Expected to Still be Solid this Year - We'll See

The International Monetary Fund (IMF) is out with it latest World Economic Outlook, an incredibly detailed forecast of many aspects of the global economy.

 

The Outlook starts right off with a chart showing actual real GDP growth by country and across the globe for 2021, then forecasts growth rates for 2022 and 2023, as seen in the chart from the report below:

 

 

As can be seen, the IMF sees to economic growth to be 3.6% in both 2022 and 2023 - decent but not outstanding levels.

 

The IMF expects US real GDP to grow a solid 3.7% this year, before falling back to just 2.3% in 2023. With its severe COVID restrictions, China is expected to growth just 4.4% in 2022.
