Above the Fold: Supply Chain Logistics News (September 1, 2023)

The wildfires in Maui and Hurricane Idalia this week: August was a reminder that Mother Nature can be a powerful and disruptive force at times.

The American Logistics Aid Network, one of the organizations that our Indago supply chain research community supports, encourages members of the logistics community to “visit ALAN’s Supply Chain Intelligence Center and its Disaster Micro-Site frequently. The first site contains a wide variety of resources to keep you in the loop about everything from Hurricane Idalia’s latest path to how local and regional transportation infrastructure is being impacted. The second is where we will share details about some of ALAN’s key activities and how you and other members of the logistics community can help. We will be updating both resources frequently as events unfold.”

You can support ALAN by donating directly to the organization or by joining Indago and selecting them as the charity you wish to support. It’s a win-win value proposition: you receive valuable market research that helps you make smarter business decisions, while ALAN receives valuable donations that help it make a difference in people’s lives.

Moving on, here’s the supply chain and logistics news that caught my attention this week:

Monday is Labor Day here in the United States, so I suspect many people are supersizing the holiday weekend and taking today off too. Therefore, I will share my commentary next week.

Have a happy weekend!
