Another Top Industry Award for Synergy Leader

Synergy’s Chief Product & Delivery Officer, Smitha Raphael, has been selected as one of Supply & Demand Chain Executive’s 2023 Women in Supply Chain winners.

headshot-smitha-raphael_250w-paddedThis prestigious award honors female supply chain leaders and executives whose accomplishments, mentorship and examples set a foundation for women in all levels of a company’s supply chain network. It follows on from Raphael being hailed as one of the standout achievers in 2022!

The 2023 Women in Supply Chain award list includes talented and outstanding individuals who have made significant and tangible impact in supply chain management, contributing to the growth and innovation of the supply chain industry.

Marina Mayer, Editor-in-Chief of Supply & Demand Chain Executive and sister title Food Logistics, says: “This year, we received over 400 submissions, the highest amount of applications not only for this award, but for all of our awards. What’s more, 118 of those applications were submitted by male counterparts, nominating their boss, co-worker or associate. Last year, that figure was just 75. Also this year, 39 women self-nominated, a tremendous uptick from last year’s award, which just saw 12 self-nominations. This shows progress. This shows hope that one day, we won’t need an award like this because men and women in the supply chain will be equal.”

The award is the fifth for Synergy in 2023 and reflects the company’s growing influence in the supply chain and warehouse management tech innovation sector. Raphael had an outstanding year too, having successfully deployed the unique SnapControl multi-agent orchestration platform that allows the SnapFulfil WMS to integrate and centrally manage the workload and connectivity between different warehouse robotics and automation devices.

She has also lead Synergy’s Vendor/Partner Program for building stronger and relationships within the company’s rapidly expanding partner ecosystem and was one of a select few chosen to take part in a Women’s History Month panel discussion at Microsoft.

Rich Pirrotta, Group CEO of Synergy Logistics, concludes: “This award is much deserved, as Smitha is a determined and outcome-focused individual who leads with empathy, while fostering inclusion and belonging. She has the intellectual curiosity, domain expertise, and problem-solving skills to deliver outstanding results for customers and partners in the supply chain sector. Smitha is driven by delivering positive process and product changes but is always eager to learn more about new business and technology trends and cascade that knowledge on to colleagues and customers.”

Recipients will be honored at this year's Women in Supply Chain Forum, set to take place Nov. 14-15, 2023 in Atlanta. Go to www.womeninsupplychainforum.com to register and learn more.
