Our Design for AM Potential Analysis feature is a TCT Awards finalist

By April 9, 2024 No Comments

Stop the presses – we have awesome news. We are named a finalist in the Software category for the TCT Awards! Our platform feature, ‘Design for Additive Manufacturing Potential Analysis,’ has garnered attention from the jury. And so, we are in the running for the award at the upcoming June 2024 award ceremony! Dive into this blog to learn more about TCT and our nominated feature.

TCT Awards
The TCT Awards serve as an annual celebration, spotlighting the best innovations and applications of 3D Printing and Additive Manufacturing technology on a global scale. The entries are judged by over twenty independent industry experts using a set of judging criteria.

The Software award, as highlighted by TCT, recognizes the most impactful innovations in software influencing product development through 3D printing and Additive Manufacturing.

Design for AM Potential Analysis
So, being named a finalist for the Software award really is the cherry on the cake of our work! It affirms our creation of an innovative software solution within the AM market that maintains high quality standards.

Our feature uses very basic supply chain data – readily available to every company – to conduct analysis and provide an indication of the savings that you can receive with Design for AM. It enables us to look at parts analysis a lot more quickly.

(Re)design for Additive Manufacturing
For those unfamiliar with the term Design for Additive Manufacturing (DfAM), we’ve provided an overview of its basics and benefits in our recent article, but here’s a summary: while it’s possible to replicate traditional manufactured parts exactly using digital twins and AM, and in doing so realize multiple benefits (e.g. lead time and supply chain cost reduction), significant additional benefits emerge when these parts are specifically (re)designed for AM.

This approach entails exploring smarter design possibilities, potentially reducing material usage or optimizing design efficiency. Furthermore, through redesigning, previously unprintable traditional parts can now be printed, facilitated seamlessly by our DfAM Potential Analysis feature. TCT Awards Night
IMark your calendars for the 5th of June 2024, when the TCT Awards ceremony will unfold in Birmingham, UK. We’re eagerly anticipating our participation in this event, where we’ll have the opportunity to connect with fellow industry innovators.
