US Air Force wants a commercial Rocket Cargo Vanguard to fly stuff anywhere on Earth. Late last Friday, the US Air Force launched a new rocket cargo program with the Space Force to study the use of commercial spacecraft to ship supplies around the world, and they may look to NASA’s lunar lander program for ideas.

Biden celebrated the deal alongside union leaders and rail executives at the White House Rose Garden, calling it a “big win for America” and for both sides of the labor dispute. A rise in cargo volumes and idling empty containers led the port to propose a dwell fee in August in hopes it would speed throughput.

The last two states added were Alaska and Hawaii in 1959. For comparison, this makes the country about half the size of Russia or South America, and more than twice the size of the European Union. The climate is mostly temperate, but Alaska is arctic, Florida and Hawaii are tropical, and the Great Plains are mostly arid or semi-arid.
