Atlanta to Memphis gained 7¢ to $1.64/mi. Memphis to Atlanta moved down 15¢ to $2.31/mi. Load-to-truck ratios stayed low for reefer freight last week, despite an increase in volume out of California and Arizona. Still it's a hopeful sign that things are moving toward normality. Outbound van rates started to decline in Los Angeles, Houston and Memphis , however. Also, reefer rates and volumes continue to decline in markets that share a border with Mexico, in Arizona and Texas. The focus is starting to shift to the north, but there are still plenty of loads available in the Southeast.

Rates got the biggest boosts out of Memphis, Atlanta and Seattle. Memphis to Chicago was also up 12¢ at $1.76/mile. The biggest gains were in Atlanta, Memphis, and Baltimore. Memphis to Dallas was up ▲39¢ to $2.74/mile, It closed the week strong, too, and the load-to-truck ratio hit 5.6 mile on average.
