Building Sustainable Solutions in Automotive Supply Chains

The Odette Conference 2023, held in Berlin November 20-21, marked a significant milestone in the evolution of automotive supply chain management. Supply Chain Management in the automotive industry is not just a support function; it’s a strategic concern at the executive level. The industry’s shift towards digitalization emphasizes the need for standardization and collaboration to thrive.

Odette has been a leader in developing digital standards for the automotive supply chain for nearly four decades. Their commitment to mobilizing the automotive community to address major challenges is more relevant today than ever. Following these two days, it is clearer than ever that the focus should not only be on current achievements but also on paving the way for the next generation of innovations and sustainability.

Recognition and Responsibility

I am honored to share that during the conference, I was awarded by the Odette Chairman, Robert Cameron, along with my global MMOG/LE teammates for our significant contributions to the development of the MMOG/LE standards. Today, 10,000 sites around the world have completed 82.600 MMOG/LE assessments on the platform.

I also had the opportunity to lead a panel of women EDI experts from VDA, Bosch, Volvo, and Volkswagen in a discussion entitled “Digital messaging standards – Is the original still the best?”. The panel delved into the ways in which EDI continues to be a vital component in the automotive industry. The future of EDI lies in its ability to evolve with emerging technologies when the time is right and the increasing demand for real-time data exchange throughout all supply chains.

QAD’s Role in Empowering the Automotive Industry

Our approach is centered on understanding the specific needs of the automotive industry. Unlike other ERP systems, QAD’s comprehensive features including embedded Automotive process maps based on MMOG/LE and IATF 16949 cater specifically to the sector, making us a leader for companies looking for robust and efficient supply chain solutions.

Maximizing Auto Supply Chain Efficiency with Integrated Quality

The Odette Conference 2023 was more than just a gathering; it was a convergence of discussions, ideas, innovations and insights. As we continue to build solutions for sustainable supply chains, it’s clear that the automotive industry’s journey towards digitalization and standardization is well underway. With QAD’s leading solutions, we are at the forefront of this transformation, ready to tackle the challenges and seize the opportunities that lie ahead.

Building on this momentum, Cathy Fisher and I took a deep dive into these topics in our recent webinar, “Sustainable Success: Maximizing Efficiency with an Integrated Quality Approach”. In this webinar, we unpack the strategies needed to navigate the automotive industry’s dynamic terrain. A practical extension of Odette’s Conference session, filled with actionable insights!
