Spot market demand heats up out West

Last week saw strong movements out of Baltimore, Fort Worth, Cleveland and Savannah. Rock Island to Indianapolis dropped 53¢ $2.91/mi. But this year there's more capacity, both from additional trucks on the road and more efficient use of current equipment. Rising Rates. Roanoke to Cleveland gained 54¢ to $2.67/mi.

March Freight Moves Out on a High Note

Memphis to Indianapolis gained 22¢ to $2.58/mile. One key lane, Miami to Baltimore, bounced up 24¢ to $2.28/mile. More specifically, if you're looking for a load out of Houston, Dallas, or Memphis, you'll see higher rates. A few lanes had big gains last week: Charlotte to Buffalo , up 31¢ to $3.04/mile.

Mid-May Spot Market Has Been a Mixed Bag

Memphis to Indianapolis isn't a lane we talk a lot about and it's rarely among the top gainers, but the average rate jumped up 12¢ last week to $1.89/mile. Lakeland to Baltimore surged 40¢ to $2.68/mile Atlanta to Charlotte rose 23¢ to an average of $2.40/mile. Philadelphia to Boston was also up 16¢ to $3.18/mile.
