Battery manufacturing

There’s a saying that the more things change, the more they stay the same. It’s especially true when describing the state of the electric vehicle and battery industry heading into 2024.

It’s true there have been articles written recently on material shortages and geopolitical conflicts disrupting the supply of raw materials. Automakers are sensing pushback from consumers on EV adoption and are pumping the brakes a bit in terms of their electrification efforts. Yet, such temporary setbacks don’t change the fact that the world is inexorably moving to an all-electric future, and innovation continues apace.

Fortunately, the last two to three years have been transformative and optimistic towards electrification with major OEM manufacturers working on new technologies. Toyota released exciting news about their potentially game-changing solid state battery technology that would revolutionize the driving range of an EV. EV and battery startup companies are also scaling as they pioneer new battery technologies that are getting closer to market with each passing day.

How Can Emerging Battery Companies Keep Up?

This is where QAD comes in, and we’ll be at NAATBatt International Annual Meeting and Conference for the third consecutive year to show you how. The theme of this year’s NAATBatt is, “Building Capacity.” As the brightest minds in EV and battery manufacturing soon meet in Carlsbad, California, to discuss the building-out of advanced battery manufacturing in North America, QAD will be educating emerging battery companies on the importance of staying resilient, agile, and winning the race to market over their bigger, slower rivals.

QAD’s ERP and supply chain solutions address the needs of today’s scaling EV startups when it comes to maneuvering around disruptions, ensuring quality and compliance standards and enabling consistent global manufacturing processes. We encourage all NAATBatt attendees to stop by the QAD booth and meet with Andreas Bareid, Head of EV and Mobility, to explore the ways in which QAD can address their business challenges. As co-chair of the NAATBatt onshoring committee, Bareid will also preside over the latest developments in the group’s efforts to assist and advise battery and materials companies located outside North America in establishing operations within the United States.

This year’s conference marks a milestone in that QAD will have its first booth (#30) in the NAATBatt exhibit hall at which delegates can see a live demo, network and consult with our solutions experts, and enjoy fun games and giveaways.

We’re excited to see what this year’s conference has to share about the latest developments in EV and battery technologies. QAD is also excited to share how our solutions offer out-of-the-box functionality to help fledgling EV startups succeed.
