Spot Market Freight Rates Soar After Hurricane Harvey

Denver to Houston rose 59¢ to $1.63 per mile, the biggest weekly jump ever on an outbound Denver lane. Chicago to Denver rates rose 22¢ to $2.72 Denver to Houston reefer rates also rose 63¢ to $2.53 Out of California, Fresno to Denver rates hit $2.39, up 30¢ from the week before. FALLING LANES.

Rates and Demand Are Still High for Refrigerated Freight

Sacramento to Denver gained 29¢ at $2.55/mile. Grand Rapids to Philadelphia dropped 58¢ to $3.52/mile. As we were saying before, the going rate for reefer loads heading from Grand Rapids to Philadelphia was way down last week. Chicago to Kansas City also had a big increase at $3.48/mile, The lane still pays well at $3.51/mile,

Van freight gears up for the holidays

Los Angeles to Denver also increased 14¢ to $3.21/mile. Falling lane included: Philadelphia to Boston slipped 16¢ to $3.72/mile. Both the Seattle and Los Angeles markets saw some double digit rate increases: Seattle to Eugene, OR moved up 26¢ to $2.88/mile. Los Angeles to Dallas increased 14¢ to $2.51/mile.
