In the early morning hours of March 18, 1990, two men, disguised as police officers, talked their way into the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum in Boston, where they blindfolded and tied up the two security guards, and made off with thirteen works of art. Among them was The Concert , one of only 34 known paintings by Johannes Vermeer and thought to be the most valuable unrecovered painting in the world.
