QAD year in review, 2023

The World is Changing, and So Are We

Last year was a year of technology advances and societal transformation. The World Health Organization (WHO) declared the end of the Covid-19 pandemic, global leaders advanced plans to address climate change and artificial intelligence stole the technology limelight. Though, not everything went so smoothly in every part of the world. Multiple wildfires ravaged Greece, burning more than 93,000 hectares (230,000 acres) of land, and Israel launched a full-scale war on HAMAS in Palestinian Gaza that is still happening and affecting manufacturing and supply chains today. As the world navigates this post-pandemic era, it is clear we are not without disruption as a global society.

Is Covid even considered a disruption anymore? Sure it is – but we have learned to adapt, take better health and safety precautions and make changes to the ways that we do business and ultimately, live our lives. Yes, gone are the days of masking up before taking the dog out for a neighborhood walk, or relying entirely on in-person office work to yield the same results as remote work. The pandemic may be over, but it is still influencing the global economy and shaping how and where we work. The good news is, organizations are building resiliency, and building up their technology footprint through significant advances in automation, machine learning and AI technologies, giving the world a glimpse into the future of business innovation.

A Year of Change, Integration and Growth for QAD

Once acquired by software investment firm Thoma Bravo in 2021, QAD’s transformation began. We regrouped, sharpened our vision, went all in on SaaS and found some pretty amazing technologies to complement our product suite. This all brought us to the year 2023, where we saw notable changes in the ways that we operate and market ourselves as a software organization, key integrations with new technologies and tremendous growth in the Enterprise SaaS market. Below are a few examples of what made 2023 so important to us – and check out the video at the bottom for more insights!

Redzone Acquisition

On February 1, 2023, we acquired Redzone, the #1 connected workforce solution for manufacturing. The addition of Redzone’s connected workforce solution has already supercharged our product suite by unlocking the power of frontline teams, increasing productivity and engagement while reducing staff turnover.

Did you know? QAD Redzone Connected Workforce delivers a 29% increase in productivity, 74% increase in engagement and a 32% reduction in staff turnover.

A New Visual Brand

We launched a new visual brand to embody our Adaptive Enterprise vision and growth journey. The new brand brings together the company’s sharpened vision, recent acquisitions and SaaS solution growth supporting manufacturers and supply chains.

Did you know? The new QAD color palette was inspired by three raw materials used in manufacturing: Cobalt Oxide, Cinnabar and Cadmium.

A New Generative AI Tool

We introduced Miny, a generative AI tool for our Process intelligence solution. The comprehensive tool can engage in conversations around process mining, respond to “common language” questions around key concepts, system navigation and even summarize insights.

Did you know? This digital assistant is trained on a private and secure version of OpenAI’s GPT-4 and pioneers user ease and efficiency inside QAD Process Intelligence.
