Road closures halted shipments on major trade routes like I-10 between Houston, New Orleans and Jacksonville , and I-75 up from Florida to Atlanta. Houston to Oklahoma City dropped 19¢ to $2.04/mile. Seattle to Salt Lake City lost 18¢ at $2.18, with fewer imports hitting the Seattle port.

Spot market settles after Hurricane Florence

Rates were up out of Denver , and the lane to Houston rose 17¢ -- but the average was still just $1.50/mile. Texas has been quiet in recent weeks, but the lane from Houston to Oklahoma City rose 14¢ to $2.26/mile. The biggest increase was from Buffalo to Allentown, PA , which added 22¢ to an average of $3.36/mile.
