Houston to Oklahoma City was down 8¢ to $1.97/mile. Crop production is rising out of the Northwest, so reefer rates fell on inbound lanes like Sacramento to Portland , OR. Cleveland to Chicago also paid 15¢ better at $1.75/mile. Declining lanes were few and far between. Those rates fell 30¢ to an average of $2.72/mile.

Houston continues to have strong demand. The lane rate from Houston to New Orleans rose 22¢ to $2.65 per mile, and the lane from Houston to Oklahoma City hit a new high of $2.30 Out West, van rates from Stockton, CA to Portland, OR averaged $2.80 per mile last week, a 20¢ increase.

In Texas, Houston volumes rose 5%, but were down 3% in Dallas. No major van markets made any big moves in one direction or the other last week, but outbound rates in Houston and Los Angeles have both risen by 5% over the past month. Along the Gulf Coast, Houston to New Orleans was up 15¢ to an average of $2.53/mile.
