Spot market demand heats up out West

Seattle is the closest U.S. Outbound volumes from Seattle were up by double digits. Those increases in truck freight were small compared to Seattle’s, which tells us that we could see a surge of van freight out of California this week and next. Seattle to Salt Lake City gained 13¢ to $1.84/mi.

October Flatbed Rates Were Highest of the Year

Van Rates Close Q2 With a Bang

Memphis to Indianapolis climbed 37¢ to an average of $3.34/mile. Pricing was stable out of Houston and Seattle , which counts as "cold" compared to the rest of the market. Summer freight: Calm before the storm?

Out West, Seattle to Eugene, OR , jumped up 12¢ to $2.97/mile. Memphis rates also fell sharply, with the lane to Indianapolis down 21¢ to $2.59/mile. Rates did rise on a handful of regional lanes: Columbus, OH, to Buffalo, NY , climbed 23¢ to an average of $3.77/mile. Buffalo to Allentown, PA also added 11¢ at $3.46/mile.

September Van and Reefer Trends Stay Strong After Labor Day

Prices in Chicago, Columbus, Seattle, and Philadelphia are all higher than they were a month ago. Chicago, Cleveland, Columbus, Indianapolis, and Joliet, IL , were all in the top 10 for load posts on DAT Load Boards last week. Texas volumes have improved , and outbound rates were up the major van lanes from Dallas.
