Rock Island, IL, to Minneapolis rose at an average of $3.71/mile. North Carolina and Virginia were especially affected by the winter weather this month, and prices fell out of Roanoke. Continuing the regional theme out of Nevada: Flatbed rates from Reno to Seattle rose to $2.97/mile. That pushed rates lower out of Tampa.

So it's no big surprise that the Minneapolis market area was also the land of a thousand loads (per day) in the first half of November, as fresh turkeys got stuffed into temp-controlled trailers during the run-up to Thanksgiving. The peak season for reefers in the Minneapolis market is late summer, not late fall. North Carolina.

This year’s weather may not be as severe, but truckers will need to be aware of road conditions on Interstates 80 and 90 through those states, and there could be delays in and around Chicago, Indianapolis, Detroit, Milwaukee, and Minneapolis. Interstate 90 runs through that area, as does I-5 in western Washington and Oregon.
