Flatbed rates move lower, but they're still pretty high

Outbound markets with double-digit price increases included Jacksonville, FL, Roanoke, VA and Las Vegas. Jacksonville to Miami increased 43¢ to $3.16/mile. Flatbed rates declined significantly in a handful of lanes: Raleigh to Greenville, SC plunged $1.20 Hot Markets. Las Vegas to Los Angeles jumped 64¢ to $4.93/mile.

Flatbed rates and volumes move upward

Plenty of flatbed markets in the South and East experienced rising prices, including Birmingham, Tampa, Atlanta, Savannah, Raleigh, Harrisburg, Dallas and Phoenix. Flatbed Markets Continue to Boom

Gains out of Las Vegas and Jacksonville, FL , suggest that construction equipment and material are on the move. A couple strong lanes last week: Raleigh to Greenville, SC , jumped up to $2.94/mile. The oil industry has also fueled the Texas markets: Rates were higher last week out of Dallas and Fort Worth , while Houston held firm.

Sun Belt States are Hot for Seasonal Freight

Jacksonville is also going strong, with big rate increases on the lanes to Miami up 13¢, and to New Orleans , up 40¢ Rates are rocketing up in Raleigh , after a down month. Four major lanes out of Raleigh had double-digit increases last week. But flatbed load-to-truck ratios are soaring in Alabama and Arkansas.
