Reports now indicate that a federal mediator is now engaged in added contract talks with the goal of attempting to resolve the differences. Reportedly, workers are especially upset regarding existing core health insurance benefits.

Two weeks ago, a tentative agreement was reached among the bargaining parties, but a reported 79 percent of labor union workers voted to reject the settlement, and instead voted to strike. Agreement Now Reached Yesterday, a reported 63 percent of union members voted to accept a revised four year labor agreement with Spirit AeroSystems.
