Stord Partners with IPG to Launch New Warehouse Collaboration After Centralizing eCommerce Operations with a Single Integration to Connect Their ERP to Stord’s Omni-Channel Distribution Network

ATLANTA, September 30, 2020 -- Stord announces this week the recent completion of Intertape Polymer Group Inc.’s (“IPG”) integration connecting their Enterprise Resource Planning Software (“ERP”) with Stord’s cloud-based software. The integration offers further visibility into IPG’s existing Third Party Logistics Warehouses (“3PLs”) as well as the ability to leverage Stord’s distribution network to seamlessly launch numerous additional warehouses through 2020. Both the integration and the expansion will serve to continually extend the packaging manufacturer’s market reach and exceed their ecommerce customers’ delivery expectations.

“We were intrigued by Stord because of their ability to be the one point of contact for us, no matter how many warehouses we had. Working with their team has proven to be a great way to do business -- Stord has a vast network capable of providing a solution in every location. I see Stord as being our primary ecommerce warehouse provider in North America.” - Zach Kissel, VP of eCommerce Services at IPG.

IPG’s manufacturing plants are located throughout North America but IPG needs to be able to deliver locally to ecommerce customers who require products within a 1-2 day delivery window. They had a number of relationships with 3PLs across the country, but getting reliable services and information from each one of them became unmanageable as the business continued to grow. Their next option was to identify their best performing partners and ask if they had warehouse space in other cities, but none of them had facilities in every location that IPG needed.

Then the IPG team was introduced to Stord, who set up a forward stocking location for IPG in Indianapolis. A couple months later IPG tapped into more locations in Stord’s network, after finding that working with Stord was resulting in a lightened workload, reduced back-and-forth communication and improved service. The next step for IPG was to integrate into Stord’s platform and further reduce manual operational effort like entering orders or uploading bills of lading.

Stord integrated their cloud software with IPG’s ERP. With Stord’s software also individually connected to each warehouse’s software system, IPG only needed to look in one software platform to find, control and analyze orders across their forward stocking network. This single integration allowed IPG to rapidly onboard their existing warehouses to Stord’s platform, as well as expand to additional locations in Stord’s extended distribution network of 500+ warehouses and 15k+ carriers across North America.

IPG currently operates in five different warehouses across Stord’s network and plans to add additional locations in the coming months, all of which will be connected through Stord’s initial integration. Because Stord’s network is flexible, IPG can seamlessly open new locations or close others as needed to support their customers without hefty launch or termination fees.

Why Stord?

Before partnering with Stord, IPG’s ecommerce network was supported by numerous 3PLs, all of whom required their own contract and software, causing complications in data and reporting. Each time the company needed to launch a new forward stocking location, they had to vet a new facility, sign a new contract, and ramp up their supply chain team on that warehouse’s software. Stord’s integration brought all their inventory and order data to one place. Through centralized and normalized data visibility on Stord’s platform, IPG is able to glean actionable insights and make data-driven decisions across their distributed logistics network.

Stord worked directly with IPG’s team to handle their integration from beginning to end, from kickoff and discovery, technical requirement gathering, development of advanced process flows, integration development and testing to go-live and continual support. Since Stord’s ERP integration can be reused across their logistics network, IPG can now use Stord’s platform to launch any independent factories/facilities/3PLs, or continue to expand their network through Stord’s nationwide 3PL coverage.
