Unveiling Vietnam's Largest Automated Freezer Warehouse

In a significant development for the cold storage and logistics sector, NECS has successfully closed a deal with Körber, signifying a remarkable advancement in the industry landscape in Southeast Asia. Specializing in 3rd party logistics services, NECS, based in Long An Province, Vietnam, is set to establish the largest automated freezer warehouse in the country, with construction currently in progress and operations planned to begin in the first quarter of 2026.

Advanced Cold Storage Efficiency through ASRS Technology

The focal point of this collaboration is the implementation of an Automated Storage and Retrieval System (ASRS) from Körber. Boasting an extensive capacity of over 66,000 pallet locations, supported by 10 advanced cranes and towering at a height of 40 meters, the ASRS will enhance the efficiency of NECS's cold storage operations.

One of the key advantages NECS stands to gain from this partnership is a reduction in warehouse footprint, coupled with a higher storage density compared to conventional warehouses. The ASRS ensures accurate inventory management, thereby improving overall operational efficiency.
