Amazon Prime’s Price Increase: What it Means for Retail (And Why I’m Rethinking My Subscription)

In its official earnings release , Amazon Prime’s vice president Jamil Ghani cited “the continued expansion of Prime member benefits as well as the rise in wages and transportation costs” as the reason for the price increase. However, that’s news to me. When Amazon released its quarterly earnings results, shares spiked over 17%.
