Eric Beckwitt was born in California but had to flee with the family in 2003 to save his son, who suffered severe asthma in the Sierra Nevada foothills where the Beckwitt family lived. Eric was involved in conservation in the Sierra Nevada since an early age. It was their passion and profession long before that.
