When Gartner purchased AMR Research in December 2009, the methodology became the Gartner Supply Chain Top 25. In Figure 1, I show the depiction of a model from this work. Figure 1. The result? AMR Research was an industry analyst firm in Boston. Gartner purchased the firm in 2010.) My desire was to make the rankings of the Top 25 supply chain report data-driven based on balance sheet results. Companies entered the pandemic with twenty more days of inventory than at the beginning of the great recession.

It also allows existing employees to spend less time lugging boxes or finding inventory and more time doing the more complex parts of their job that are difficult to automate. Those inventory systems require more attention because of this (a human gig), as do programming and maintenance. Soon, robots will replace those jobs, too.

Those same words were also said when the ports were shut down for 10 days in 2002 , and again in December 2012 when 600 clerks went on strike , shutting down the ports of Los Angeles and Long Beach for 8 days.
