In the professional women’s division, Peres Jepchirchir of Kenya and Ababel Yeshaneh of Ethiopia dropped the majority of the pack during a record-setting 11-mile stretch from mile 6-16. The move, which goes into effect May 1, is part of the Postal Service’s 10-year plan to reduce more than $100 billion in projected losses.
