Amazon is already the world’s largest buyer of green energy, but through a series of deals, the company is moving to reduce its carbon footprint even more. As containers become scarcer, the price goes up. The acquisition would be subject to approval by KCS shareholders, the US Surface Transportation Board (STB), and Mexican regulators.
