This lack of alignment is an impediment to improving balance sheet results. I did not understand warehousing and transportation until reassignment to a logistics role in 1985. Typing this quickly in the Atlanta airport as I run for a plane for Lima, Peru. I am a product of traditional, silo-based thinking.

I am half-way through a spring speaking tour that will wrap-up in June with a speech in South Africa and Peru. Use GPS, maps and weather signals to better predict arrival and route transportation assets. Include the supplier’s warehouse and manufacturing locations. This work is important to me. 3) Supplier Sensing.
