Autonomous cargo ship completes 500-mile voyage. In our last piece of autonomous vehicle news, the “world’s first” autonomous commercial cargo ship has successfully completed a near-500-mile voyage in the congested waters of Tokyo Bay, traveling without human intervention for 99 percent of the trip.

Last week, the world’s largest EV maker completed a long-delayed project to expand capacity at Gigafactory Shanghai, where it builds Model Y SUVs and Model 3 sedans for customers in Asia and Europe. The work incidents generally haven’t delayed cargo movement, but officials say they worry that confrontations over work disputes could escalate.
