In a company blog post addressing staff, Amazon CEO Andy Jassy said the move to in-person work makes it easier to collaborate, learn and build workplace culture. The retailer plans to have at least 15 of the facilities, dubbed sortation centers, by the end of January 2026. The new requirement is set to begin May 1.
