The USA says it intends to reduce emissions by 26-28 percent below its 2005 level by 2025 , trying hard for the upper limit. In 2010, Walmart announced its goal to eliminate 20 million metric tons of GHG emissions from its global supply chain by the end of 2015.

At the conference I encouraged the attendees to network with each other, to build a guiding coalition, to redesign supply chain processes for the Supply Chain of 2025. The concept of text mining or social sentiment analysis is not on the radar for most supply chain professionals. The conference is always a lot of fun.

Following a customer uproar the date was extended until 2025. Ariba, while mature for indirect procurement, is still not the preferred method for direct material management. As a result, I believe that SAP innovation will lag and SAP will play catch-up in 2025. The adoption rate is slow.
