I was on my way to Peru. Over the course of trip to Atlanta to connect to Peru, we began a discussion. The market shift was dramatic, and if we had made a series of small cuts in staff or direction, we would have had the same fate as i2 Technologies or Manugistics. When I speak, people ask, “Who has the best supply chain?”

But nobody is talking about the supply chain for these vehicles, and the capacity required to build them. Converting an entire supply base of automotive suppliers, who are all focused on building of combustion engine-powered vehicles, and moving them all to electric vehicles, will be a superhuman feat. And how will we mine them?

On Monday, I would speak in Orlando Florida at the Terra Technology event; and on Wednesday, present the keynote at the Logistic Summit & Expo in Mexico City. I am half-way through a spring speaking tour that will wrap-up in June with a speech in South Africa and Peru. I also believe that supply chains need a revolution.
