Reefers Gain Momentum, Especially in Georgia

Atlanta was a super-hot market for reefers as well as vans, thanks to all the seasonal produce leaving refrigerated warehouses and food processing plants. A lot of that produce originates in the Tifton and Macon markets in Southern Georgia, and is distributed out of Atlanta. Dallas to Columbus got a 37¢ boost, to $2.50.

Thanks in part to seasonal food items, rates are finally trending back up for vans and reefers. Late harvests are beginning the journey to your Thanksgiving table, via food processing plants and distribution centers. Look for loads of trees leaving Oregon, and potatoes out of Idaho or North Dakota.
