Truckload capacity remained tight during the first week of 2019, and national average rates increased 3¢ for vans, reefers and flatbeds. That pushed the load-to-truck ratio up 6%, signaling that demand outpaced truckload capacity. Denver to Albuquerque jumped 28¢ to $2.35/mile. Denver to Chicago added 20¢ to $1.52/mile.
