Load counts are up on DAT load boards , with more flatbed freight shipping to support the rebuilding and recovery efforts in areas affected by the storms. The flatbed traffic from Houston and along the Gulf Coast that stalled after the hurricane is also getting back to normal. Now it's looking like flatbed’s turn.

Houston to Oklahoma City cooled, falling 15¢ to $1.73/mile. Miami continued to ship lots of reefer roads, while Lakeland in the central part of the state joined the Florida parade. We expect load counts to pick up there and in the border market of McAllen, TX , with avocados shipping ahead of Cinco de Mayo.

The fifth is Houston.). while central California is shipping cherries and seasonal vegetables, including asparagus. Rates are up for flatbeds in some Sun Belt markets, particularly Jacksonville in the Southeast, Dallas and neighboring Fort Worth, plus Phoenix. Onions are also being harvested in southern California.
