Freight Rates Are Climbing, Especially on These 3 Lanes

Retail shipments also kept pace after Memorial Day and boosted prices on these lanes: Columbus to Buffalo paid 24¢ better at $2.62/mile. Memphis to Indianapolis added 22¢ to $1.88/mile. The best news was out of Fresno , where volumes stayed steady from the previous week, even though last week was just a 4-day work week.

The top 4 were the same as last week – Atlanta, Charlotte, Houston and Dallas – but Indianapolis edged out Memphis for the no. Columbus to Buffalo also lost 10¢ for an average of $2.55/mile. Out of California , volumes were flat, with higher load counts out of the Fresno area offset by declines farther south.
