Chicago to Kansas City also had a big increase at $3.48/mile, Reefer rates on the lane from Sacramento to Portland soared 70¢ to $3.42/mile.

Reefer Capacity Gets Tighter Ahead of Thanksgiving

Thanksgiving is right around the corner, so trucks are still in high demand to move refrigerated freight. The biggest spike was the lane from Chicago to Kansas City , which surged 49¢ up to $3.10/mile. In general, eastbound lanes out of Southern Idaho paid better last week than they did the week before.

That could be temporary, considering how strong demand is everywhere else. Atlanta to Raleigh added 39¢ to $2.39/mile.

Expect Traffic Jams on Monday, as Eclipse Crosses 8 States
