Inbound Rates Rise for Louisiana Flood Relief

New Orleans itself is not flooded, as it was during and after Hurricane Katrina in 2005, so trucks may be staging in NOLA for short hauls into the flood zone. This tells us that there is not as much freight being staged in Houston, beyond the usual traffic on that lane.

Van Rates Fall 3¢, in Mid-Winter Slump

It's February, so it should be no surprise that freight availability is down, and so are rates. That's the lowest price since 2005, and it's still dropping. Rates rose for high-volume lanes originating in Denver , Houston and Atlanta , but outbound rates declined in Chicago and Philadelphia. Spring can't come too soon.
