Reefer Capacity Gets Tighter Ahead of Thanksgiving

In general, eastbound lanes out of Southern Idaho paid better last week than they did the week before. The biggest drop-off last week was the lane from Grand Rapids to Cleveland , which plunged 54¢ to $3.16/mile. Denver to Houston also took a 42¢ dive at $1.87/mile.

Where to Find Flatbed Loads in the Off-Season

Columbus and Cleveland, OH also offered plenty of loads. A shortage of trucks led to high load-to-truck ratios that turned entire states dark green in Idaho, Montana and Wyoming, but there were not a lot of loads available in those areas. Rates trended up in Los Angeles, Rock Island, Cleveland and Memphis.

Van Rates Might Be Close to the Bottom, if They Aren't There Already

High volumes of produce are going to urban areas like Atlanta, Chicago, and Dallas , so outbound rates fell in those markets. Rock Island to Kansas City was also up big at $2.81/mile.
