Mid-May Spot Market Has Been a Mixed Bag

No major van markets made any big moves in one direction or the other last week, but outbound rates in Houston and Los Angeles have both risen by 5% over the past month. Houston to Los Angeles dropped 10¢ to $1.21/mile. Los Angeles to Denver also jumped up 29¢ to $2.84/mile.

We expect load counts to pick up there and in the border market of McAllen, TX , with avocados shipping ahead of Cinco de Mayo.
