Major Freight Markets Saw Biggest Rate Surge of the Year

Memphis to Columbus was up 17¢ to $1.94/mile. There were also modest increases in rates out of Chicago and Dallas , with a strong uptick in volumes out of Dallas. Nogales, AZ to Dallas jumped up â–²43¢ to $3.04/mile, Dallas to Tulsa rates were also up, likely due to oil-related traffic. Out West, L.A.

Memphis had more loads last week, as it replaced Houston as the number 3 market for load availability, following Atlanta and Dallas. Memphis outbound rates were down for the week, but rates are rising in the Midwest, starting with Columbus. Hot Markets include: Jacksonville, Savannah, Raleigh, and Roanoke.
