Out West, the extra-long haul from Fresno to Boston rose 29¢ to $2.41/mile. Demand is still extra-high out of potato-shipping regions ahead of Thanksgiving, but rates from Twin Falls, ID, to Phoenix dropped 27¢ to an average of $2.74/mile. Chicago to Denver soared 27¢ to $3.17/mile.

Look for loads of trees leaving Oregon, and potatoes out of Idaho or North Dakota. Twin Falls, Idaho is a great source for outbound reefer loads, prior to Thanksgiving. Look for a load from Twin Falls to Phoenix , which paid $2.24 From Phoenix, head back to L.A. From Phoenix, head back to L.A. per mile last week.

Prices were also up on the lane from Denver to Phoenix. Reefer rates bounced back in Southern Idaho , after a down week. Out of California, reefer loads paid less in Ontario and Fresno. Van rates on the lane from Columbus to Allentown have averaged $2.96 per mile in the past week, and Buffalo to Allentown is up to $2.98

Shipments out of the Santa Maria District also pushed rates up out of the Fresno market. The big surprise was in Southern Idaho. Outbound rates in the past month have surged in Birmingham, Phoenix, Jacksonville, and Los Angeles , and last week saw a big uptick in prices out of Rock Island, IL.
